ZHANG Yangjian, professor at the institute of geographic sciences and natural resources, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Outstanding youth research scientist awarded by NSFC. Director of Key Lab of Ecosystem Network Observation and Modeling, CAS. Principal Investigator of 973 project of Ministry of Science and Technology, China. The1st class reward of Science of Xizang Autonomous Region. He obtained his Ph.D. from University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia, U.S. in 2004. 

His research is mostly focused on, but not limited to, integrating field experiments, transect survey, remote sensing monitoring and ecosystem process modeling to investigate effects of global changes on vegetation dynamics, also vegetation feedback to climate systems. His research has been published by over 100 SCI indexed papers, including such high profile Journal as PNAS and Science.
