Biography: Dr. Xiao Yang’s academic background covers materials chemistry and environmental science. His research interest focuses on iron-based minerals for their use in environmental remediation or new multifunctional biochar-based material development, especially in monitoring of emerging pollutants and health risk assessment, decontamination of potential toxic elements in both soil and water, and application of advanced algorithm for visualizing the spatiotemporal variation of contamination in underground environment. Dr. Xiao has published more than 90 peer-reviewed journal papers, most of which are in mainstream environmental engineering and chemistry journals including ACS Sustain Chem Eng J, Water Res, Environ Sci Technol, etc., and 7 of which have been recognized as Web of Science ESI top papers, namely Highly Cited Paper. He has been served as a member of editorial board in Biochar since 2020 and be horored with “2022 World Top2% Scientists”.

Areas of Specialization: Environmental chemistry and engineering
