Name: YANG Zhenshan
YANG Zhenshan is Professor at Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources Research of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Visiting Scholar at the University of Cambridge in the U.K. He obtained his Ph.D from Utrecht University in the Netherlands. He is specialized in sustainable urban and regional development, particularly on urban agriculture, special economic zones, shrinking cities, human capital and green cities. He has been actively serving the World Bank, Asia Development Bank, European Commission, IDRC (Canada), RURF (funded by IDRC, FAO and DGIS), Lincoln Land Use Institute, Natural Science Foundation of China, China National Governments, local governments and private companies.
He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers in both leading international English and Chinese academic journals, of which nearly 40 published by SCI/SSCI journals, including Progress in Human Geography, Regional Studies, Environment Planning A, Cities, Habitat International, Tourism Management, and Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Management. He frequently works as reviewers for over 20 journals in the field of geography, tourism and urban and regional development.
