The Online Admission Briefing for International Students organized by the Education Department of the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research (IGSNRR), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) was held in the afternoon on January 22, 2021. Twelve international students joined this event, which was one of a series of publicity activities jointly held by the Headquarter of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) and 17 institutes of CAS.

Dr. BAI Yanying, who took charge of international students in the Education Department, introduced the history, research fields, financial support, and other aspects of the institute at the meeting. She showed the details about 34 international students who were studying in the institute currently. She also made in-depth interpretation of the enrollment policy, PhD program and scholarship setting, as well as the application process about admission for international student step by step.

Professor TANG Qiuhong and Professor DENG Xiangzheng, representatives of excellent teachers at IGSNRR, shared their experiences in advising and guiding international students. Mr. Simon Measho Yhdego from Eritrea and Ms. Ayana Yangutova from Russia shared their study and life in China as international students. The participants were very interested in the presentations and actively involved in the discussions.

The publicity of this event will help to attract more attention and interesting of the international students, expand the outreach of the scientific achievements and promote the international cooperation of the institute.
