A top academic forum was held in Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IGSNRR, CAS) on September 19 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of IGSNRR and the 55th anniversary of integrated science surveys of CAS.

Academic leaders of China, including CAS member LU Dadao, and CAE (Chinese Academy of Engineering) members DING Yihui, LI Wenhua, and SUN Jiulin presented reports at the forum. Covering a wide range of topics such as climate change and its impact to human being, ecosystem service and eco-compensation, information society and E-Science, and methodology in economic geography, the reports had attracted about 150 experts, researchers and students. The audience had a heated discussion with the presenters during the reports.

As the co-chairman of the forum, CAS member SUN Honglie gave a speech in the end, hoping that IGSNRR would stick to the integration of natural sciences with humanities and do more for the country.
