A delegation of the Republic of Belarus visited the Institute Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research (IGSNRR) on June 7, 2010, led by Dr. Igor Voytov, Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, co-chair of Sino-Belarus Inter-governmental Cooperation Committee of Science and Technology. The formal meeting is presided over by Prof. ZHOU Chenghu, the deputy director of IGSNRR. He firstly delivered a welcome address to the delegation, and also expressed the great wishes for the scientific cooperation between the countries in the future.

In the meeting, Dr. ZHANG Ming of IGSNRR gave a presentation about the basic situations of IGSNRR. Then both sides had an extensive communications and discussions around some specific topics. Belarusian side extended the wishes to further cooperation in polar environment, resources utilization (including soil resources and mine resources, et.al), management for river basins and environmental health, et.al. Afterwards, the delegation visited the State Key Laboratory of Resources and Environmental Information System (LREIS), IGSNRR. Two parterners are looking forward to establishing concrete scientific cooperation as soon as possible.

This delegation to IGSNRR includes main leaders from the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, Ministry of Education, National Academy of Sciences, Ministry of Industry, National University of Information and Radio, National University of Technology and Ministry of Health.
