On January 15th, 2010, Yu Woo-ik,new ambassador of the Republic of Korea (ROK),visited the Geographical Society of China (GSC) and the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IGSNRR, CAS).

LU Dadao, academician CAS, president of GSC, Prof. LIU Yi, director of IGSNRR etc. met with Yu Woo-ik and his followers. LU Dadao, president of GSC expressed congratulation to Yu Woo-ik to assume his new office in China, saying that with the joint efforts of both sides, China-ROK cooperation in geographical area have achieved rapid development.

LIU Yi, Director of IGSNRR, expressed welcome for Yu Woo-ik's visit, introducing the history and recent development of the institute. Two sides exchanged  ideas and hoped to enhance constantly cooperation of two countries in geographical area.
