A delegation led by Academician Kuzmin Mikhail, president of the Irkutsk Science Center, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), visited the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IGSNRR, CAS) on January 14th, 2010. Experts of IGSNRR conducted a seminar in sustainable development and academic exchanges with the delegation.　

The Irkutsk Science Center delegation conducted in-depth exchanges mainly in the international collaborative research on the integrated scientific expedition in north China and its neighboring area, the State Basic Science and Technology Key Project of China. Academician Kuzmin gave a presentation on “climate Change in Post-Baikal Region and the Lena River Basin”. Academician Sun Jiulin of Chinese Academy of Engineering, the deputy Chairman of the Expert Committee of the State Basic Science and Technology Key Project of China participated the seminar and took a speech about Russia and China scientific collaboration in Northeast Asia and admired Academician Kuzmin’s contribution in scientific cooperation between Russia and China.
