On 10^th April, 2008-2009 annual subject development report for Resources Science was released by China Society of Natural Resource (CSNR) in Beijing, China. Resources Science is one of major subjects of research programme under the auspices of China Association for Science and Technology (CAST).

This annual report presents some study advances in the fields of seven sub-discipline, including sustainable use of natural resources and disaster reduction, resources recycling use, resources engineering, natural herb medicine resources, resources in arid and semi-arid regions, resources of mountainous regions and wetland resources. Some new viewpoints, new theories, methodologies, technologies and productions and their application in the social and economic development of the country are discussed and summarized. In addition, by comparing and analyzing the subjects’ development level with developed countries, some strategic requirements and research directions in the research area are put forward in the report.
