Dr. Shih-Lung Shaw is Arts and Sciences Excellence Professor and Betty Lynn Hendrickson Professor in the Department of Geography, University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His research interests cover GIS for transportation (GIS-T), temporal GIS, time geography, transportation, and spatial analysis (http://web.utk.edu/~sshaw/NSF-Project-Website/default.htm).

This presentation will discuss the challenges and the prospects of developing a comprehensive “Space, Time, and Person-based Geographic Information Science”.
