International Forum on Resource, Environment and Sustainable Development of Northeast and Central Asia under Global Climate Change

Beijing, P.R. China, June 3 to 6, 2011

Purpose:

Northeast Asia and Central Asia are the regions sensitively response to global change, countries there which have close relationships in the aspects of geographical ecology, geo-resources and geo-economics desire intensely to seek cooperation on resources, environment and sustainable development. In recent years, scientists from lots of countries attach importance to the comprehensive researches on these regions. The scientific institutes from China, Russia, Mongolia, Japan, Korea and Kazakhstan have founded long-term scientific cooperation relationship and made impressive progress in the fields of resources, environment and sustainable development of Northeast Asia and Central Asia. To promote the sustainable development of these regions and intensify academic exchange and economic cooperation, Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research(IGSNRR), Chinese Academy of sciences(CAS) will host “International Forum on Resources, Environment and Sustainable Development of Northeast and Central Asia under Global Climate Change”, sincerely welcome international experts and scholars to attend the forum.

1. Global climate change and regional response and adaptation in Northeast and Central Asia.

2. Ecological security and environment protection in Northeast and Central Asia.

3. Sustainable use of resources and recycling economy in Northeast and Central Asia.

4. International cooperation mechanisms and models of sustainable development in Northeast and Central Asia.

5. International cooperation for ecosystem monitoring network in Northeast and Central Asia.
