First Call for Papers

Deadline for submission of abstracts: 10 June 2009

The CAS International Workshop of Urban Geography will be held in Beijing on 8-9 September 2009. The aim of the Workshop is to enable interested urban scholars to exchange views on the theoretical and methodological development of urban geography as well as high-quality research outcomes.

Workshop Themes

The Workshop will have four regular sessions and a special discussion. The respective themes are:

Session 1. Urban Policy: urbanization and urban growth

Session 2. Urban Morphology: forms and functions

Session 3. Social, cultural & economic processes: living and environments

Session 4. Approach: data and analytical methods

Special Discussion: Critical issues, approaches & data-sharing in urban geography

In the poster presentation session, there will be a special “data presentation” part, which will focus on the research of data collection, data processing, data mining and data sharing in urban areas, in addition to the above themes.

Submitted papers are anticipated to be close to these themes but other interests on urban development are also welcome.
