Prof. LI Fadong, Associate Prof. HAN Dongmei and nine graduate students from Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research (IGSNRR), CAS were invited to attend the 9th China-Japan-Korea Graduate Student Forum.

The forum, entitled “Agriculture, Food, Environmental and Life Sciences in Asia” was held in Daejeon, Korea from September 20-23, 2016. It was organized by Chungman National University.
In total, 164 participants from China, Japan, Korea participated in the forum. Out of this, 85 Chinese participants were from IGSNRR, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Peking University, Tsinghua University, China Agricultural University, China University of Geosciences and Shenyang Agricultural University; 33 Japanese participants were from University of Tsukuba and 46 Korean participants from Chungnam National University.
Two Ph.D students DI Yuebao and MU Mengfei won the award for the best presentation. They had an in-depth discussion on relevant issues with other students from China, Korea and Japan.
The Forum serves as an important academic exchange platform in Asia. It has been successful in promoting international cooperation and mutual understanding, which are important in strengthening friendships between China, Japan and Korea. The next edition of the Forum will be held in China University of Geosciences, Beijing in 2017.
