Comparative study on water resources sustainable management of the typical basin in China and Australia

During the past years, Australia and China have been experienced the magnitude of water and environmental problems. After half a century, in Australia it has formed a unique pattern of basin management, and become a model for the world; in China it is urgent to achieve efficient and cost effective management and solve the current issues. This project chose the typical basin to address the questions as following:

1) from the successful management experiences of Australia, some recommendations and advices will be provided for the typical basin of China;
2) comparing the irrigation water price system between China and Australia, and based on the theory of water price, some suggestions will be given to the water price reform in Yellow River Basin.
