These earth buildings are mainly distributed in the southern part of Longyan area. As early as 1,900 years ago, the ancestors of Hakkas were forced to move southward and settled here. The earth towers are divided into three types: square earth buildings, round earth buildings and five-phoenix buildings. In order to provide a defense from the enemies, there are wells and food warehouses in their earth buildings. There are about over 360 round earth buildings in Yongding County.
