Prof. LIU Changming , pioneer of hydrography.　Prof. Liu has pioneered and leads hydrographic research in China and has long been at the forefront of studies in hydrology, water resource theories and utilization.　He also pioneered studies that combine geoscience with water conservation.　His major achievements have been in the following fields: water cycle, agricultural hydrology, forest hydrology, and environmental hydrological effects due to global change.　He was elected as academician of CAS in 1995.
