As a national key training base for graduate students in geographic, natural resources and geo-information sciences, IGSNRR has trained a large number of excellent, highly qualified graduate students. It is the training base for PhD students and Master students in physical geography, human geography, cartography and GIS, natural resources science, ecology, and environmental sciences.
IGSNRR has 133 doctor supervisors and 144 master supervisors. The institute enrolls about 130 PhD students and 100 Master students each year.
Since 2000, IGSNRR has admitted about 3800 graduate students. Among them, about 2300 are PhD students, about 1500 are Master students.
